Profile & topics for theses
liveForTeaching staffStudents
Your own lecturer profile with title, CV, publications and office hours — and advertised topics for theses.
Why#
Students look for supervision for their theses. A well-maintained profile with open topics saves circular emails and shows who can be approached for what.
How it works#
Click pathLecturerProfile & topics
- 1In the lecturer area open “Profile & topics” in the bar.
- 2Fill in title, website, “About me”, publications (one per line), office hours (e.g. “Tue 2–4 pm, by appointment”) and “Available for” (Fig. 1).

- 4Under “Topics for theses” advertise a topic with an optional short description; students see open topics in the directory (Fig. 2).

Settings and switches#
No switch of its own in the feature catalogue — the feature belongs to its surroundings.
The fields of the profile#
- Title (e.g. “Prof. Dr.”) and website.
- About me.
- Publications — one per line.
- Office hours — as text, e.g. “Tue 2–4 pm, by appointment”; bookable slots come from “Office hours”.
- Available for — what you can be approached for as a supervisor.
- Visible in the lecturer directory — yes or no.
Tips#
- An advertised topic can be deleted again at any time; only visible profiles appear in the directory.
