Apps
Student app
A standalone app for students — its own project, its own database — that is to use the same competence engine as this platform in future, as a versioned copy.
Why#
A lean app for everyday study life: learn with your own documents, practise for exams — and later have your competence checked by the same rules as in the platform's course.
How it works#
- 1The app is developed and operated as a separate project; at run time it is not tied to this platform.
- 2It adopts parts of this platform as a versioned copy with an adoption log; the platform records errors and changes in copied parts in a reconciliation book of its own.
- 3Planned order of integration: A — papers and interfaces (done) · B — adopt the core of the competence diagnosis as soon as it has been accepted here · C — after competence continuity · D — competence passport and verification page.
Settings and switches#
No switch of its own in the feature catalogue — the feature belongs to its surroundings.
What the review report says about the app#
- One account per person, sign-in by code to the email address; a university address can be confirmed. Up to three devices can be paired.
- Documents are broken down on the device into text per page or slide; only the text is stored, not the file.
- Learning there means: quiz, cards, exam questions and exercises from your own material — there is (as yet) no assessment of open answers.
- A “mastery” is calculated from learning events on the device; it is a learning aid, not a credential, and remains separate from the competence diagnosis.
- There are no lecturers and no tenants.
What is to be added with the competence engine#
- Exam check — learning objectives from your own documents with a reference down to the page; what has been checked, where the gaps are, what helps next. Never automatically becomes a credential.
- Competence check — new practice cases that are not in the script; every result shows whether it is based only on your own documents or on verified competence requirements.
- Documents remain private, deletable and exportable; they do not go into a marketplace or into training.
Dependencies#
- Acceptance of the competence diagnosis on this platform (database changes, acceptance with real models).
- Technical prerequisites for the byte-identical copy of the core in the app (test library, test run, origin note).
- For the passport: competence continuity and a decision on signature and format.
Under review#
The app is a separate project outside this repository; its scope and its release are only documented here from a review report (as of 16.10.2026), not from the code. Open decisions of the owner concern, among other things, credit for the competence check, who creates verified competence catalogues, the handling of unclear assessments without lecturers, retention periods and the location of the passport.

- Apps for the app storesThe whole system as an app for phones and tablets of both major mobile platforms.
- Competence diagnosis (competence check)What can the learner already do, what is this assessment based on, what is still missing — and how does the course help in a targeted way? With tasks from practice, evidence per criterion and reassessment.
- One competence engine, several learning applicationsThe platform's competence engine also works in other learning applications, such as the student app — and learners take their evidence with them as a portable competence passport, shared via QR code.
- Competence continuityShort competence prompts per role, via QR code or reminder: the platform records when a competence was last shown, when it is due again and how current it is.
