The alumni network: whoever searches the directory is listed in it themselves — and decides themselves who sees them.
Why#
Alumni are one of a university's most important assets — for networking, showing and giving back. Reciprocity turns a card index into a network.
How it works#
Click pathDashboardAlumni network
- 1Open the card “Alumni network” in the dashboard.
- 2“Create profile”: “My time at the university” (degree, programme, graduation year), “Where I stand today” (position, company, location), “About me”, website and “What can I be approached for?”.
- 3Set who sees the profile — from “nobody” to “everyone”; the default is hidden.
- 4After that the directory is visible: search by programme, position, company or location (Fig. 1).

What the alumni profile contains#
- My time at the university — degree, programme, graduation year.
- Where I stand today — position, company, location.
- About me and website.
- What can I be approached for? — “the actual engine of the network”.
- Who sees me — nobody, other graduates, graduates and verified companies, or everyone.
Tips#
- The database itself enforces the condition, not the page — it cannot be bypassed.
- Companies only see a profile if they are verified; they can follow, but get no further access through it.
- “Delete profile” removes the profile completely from the directory.
