Universe Classroom
ForTeaching staffStudentsAdministration
Live teaching for school classes: the teacher creates the class, students join with a code; paid by the school or by the parents — under 16 only with parental consent.
Why#
Schools need teaching that does not bypass the teacher and protects children and young people. Who pays can be chosen per class: the school (invoice or licence) or the parents (per student).
How it works#
- 1Teacher: under “My classes” (address /dozent/cohorts) create a class and open it.
- 2In the box “Universe Classroom” choose who pays — “The school” or “The parents” — and “Switch on Classroom”. The join code appears.
- 3Students open /plattform/academy/classroom, choose “Join with class code” at the bottom and enter code, name, email and date of birth.
- 4Under 16 — and always when the parents pay — an email first goes to a parent. Only after their consent does the invitation to the class arrive; the student then creates their account.
- 5The teacher sees every registration with its status in the box; “New code” invalidates the old one immediately. Classroom classes have no invitations by email.
Settings and switches#
- Switchable per tenantDefault: onModule: Dozentenbereich
- Switchable per tenant (feature “Universe Classroom”, module “Lecturer area”).
- Price on request — for both payment models.
Five principles#
- Class with a code — the teacher creates it, students join.
- Payment model per class — school or parents; price on request.
- Youth protection — under 16 only with parental consent by email, revocable, no disclosure to third parties.
- Control by teachers — the teacher decides who is in the class.
- Avatar — a visible, speaking learning companion, as in the course player.
Tips#
- If a parent withdraws consent, the enrolment in the class ends immediately; an account created via the class is blocked.
