Explainer video (short clip)

in progressForStudentsTeaching staff

In the learning workshop, generate a short video clip from a course module — billed via a separate video credit.

Why#

Some things are understood faster when you see them. A short clip about a module complements slides and presentation.

How it works#

  1. 1Open “Learning workshop”, choose “Learning tools” at the top and “From a course” as the source (course and module).
  2. 2In the box “Explainer video (short clip)” click “Generate 8-second clip” — every clip uses eight seconds of credit (Fig. 1).

Settings and switches#

  • Switchable per tenantDefault: offModule: Lernplattform (always booked)
  • Default: off. The operator switches it on per tenant.
  • The video credit is a separate quota in seconds; when it is used up, the box says so.

Limits today#

  • Only from a course module, not from your own material.
  • A clip is eight seconds long.
  • For trying it out there is a button “Top up credits (demo)” that only simulates the credit.

Under review#

The feature catalogue describes the switch as “Explainer video before the course start”; in the code it switches the clip generator of the learning workshop. A video before the first course start cannot be found in the code. The clip does not yet exist for your own material, and without stored access to the video service the box reports that it is not yet set up.
