Speech workshop: writing speeches with finds

ForTeaching staffAdministration

A conversation by voice or text about occasion, role, audience, duration, tone, key message, venue, date, programme and participant list — from this the workshop suggests finds that are not obvious at first and weaves them into the speech with one click. With rehearsal, teleprompter, manuscript, cue cards and matching slides.

Why#

A good speech lives from what only this occasion has: people from thirty countries in the room, an international day on the same date, the sentence of the previous speaker. The workshop asks for these, finds such connections and says for each one where it comes from.

How it works#

  1. 1Open the “Speech workshop”. At the bottom right the assistant asks about occasion, role, audience, duration, tone, key message, venue, date, programme, participant list and documents — by microphone (only after a click) or by keyboard. Everything also appears in the form on the left and can be changed there.
  2. 2Participant list as CSV, spreadsheet (.xlsx) or pasted text: it is condensed into counts in the browser straight away — countries, languages, sectors, roles, number of organisations. Names and e-mail addresses are not read, not stored and not passed on; the file never leaves the device.
  3. 3Finds on the right: a welcome in the languages in the room, countries and the mix of sectors, international days on the date, your own anniversaries, the venue as a stage, a link to the previous speaker, rhetorical figures, openings from “Setting the Scene” and closings. Every card names its source; anything to check before the speech is marked.
  4. 4“Weave in” places the card in the selected section, “Reroll” shows another version, “Discard” hides it. “More finds (AI)” asks the language model; these cards are labelled as AI suggestions.
  5. 5Write sections in the speech text and set emphasis (*word*), short and long pauses (/ and //) and effects: fade in, arrow, camera move — they later appear on the slide at exactly this point. The speaking time is shown per section and in total next to the target duration.
  6. 6Rehearsal: have your own figure read the speech in your own voice, or speak yourself and see words per minute and filler words.
  7. 7Output: full-screen teleprompter, manuscript and cue cards to print or save as PDF; “Slides for it” hands the speech to the workshop as a draft.

Settings and switches#

  • Switchable per tenantDefault: onModule: Kurs-Studio
  • Switchable per tenant, on by default; part of the module “Course Studio”.
  • Speeches belong to the person: only they can see and change them, separately per organisation.
  • “Slides for it” appears only when the Course Studio is on for the organisation.

What remains of the participant list#

  • Countries as country code with count, languages with count (from a language column or derived from the countries).
  • Sectors and roles in fixed groups with count.
  • The number of organisations; by name only organisations with at least two people.

Names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers and all other columns are neither stored nor passed to a language model.

Tips#

  • Mark gaps only you can fill in square brackets [ … ] — the teleprompter highlights them so none is forgotten.
  • Check greetings in other languages with native speakers beforehand; the card reminds you.
  • International days come from a fixed list (United Nations, UNESCO, Council of Europe, European Union); anniversaries only from your own input. Everything else is a suggestion to check.
