Why#

If a source turns out to be wrong or moves, it must be visible immediately which statements depend on it.

How it works#

  1. 1Media library: in the campus “Service” → “Library” — interviews, podcasts, explainer videos, lectures, books and articles, each with origin and visibility (Fig. 1).

  2. 2Source library (administration): open “Library”. Every source is listed with type, identifier, level, usage and — for online sources — an evidence copy (Fig. 2).

  3. 3“Fetch missing copies” fetches missing evidence copies; “Resubmit now” checks whether every source is still reachable and still says the same.
  4. 4“Record publication”: enter ISBN, ISSN or DOI — the identifier is checked immediately — plus title, page and the wording at that point.

Evidence copy and resubmission#

Online sources move: addresses change, pages disappear. The evidence copy records what was there at the time of access; it is not public. For publications the evidence is the catalogue entry, not a copy.

The resubmission checks whether every source is still there today and still says the same. The second case is the dangerous one: address and title still match, only the content no longer does. The list then marks “moved”, “content changed” or “not reachable”.

Tips#

  • The source library fills itself as soon as the fact check runs: every source a checker cites is classified.
  • Page and wording are mandatory for publications: the identifier proves that the publication exists — not that it says what is claimed.

The campus media library is a demo surface with sample data; the administration's source library works with real data.
