Notice board
Notices of your own institution: announcements with category and run time, polls with one vote per person and a personal watch list; the administration creates, extends and withdraws them.
Why#
What everyone should know belongs in a place everyone knows — filterable so that the important does not get lost in the many, and time-limited so that old items disappear by themselves.
How it works#
Click pathStudiesNotice board
- 1Members: open “Notice board” (address /studium/brett). You see the notices that are currently posted, newest first.
- 2At the top filter by category (general information, poll, event, system, exam) and semester, optionally “Watch list only” (Fig. 1).
Fig. 1 The notice board filters on the demo surface: semester, category and news type. - 3“more” expands long texts. “Bookmark” puts a notice on your own watch list, “Bookmarked” takes it off again (Fig. 2).
Fig. 2 An announcement on the demo surface with date, category, news type, text and “Bookmark”. - 4In a poll choose an answer: every person has one vote; the result only appears after your own vote.
- 5Administration: under “Notice board” in the administration (/admin/brett) create a new notice — category, optionally news type and semester, title, text, “Visible from” and “Visible until”, optionally “With poll” with two to eight answers.
- 6Below are all notices with their status (scheduled, posted, expired, withdrawn) and the poll results; “+30 days” extends, “Withdraw” takes a notice off the board immediately.
Settings and switches#
- Switchable per tenantDefault: onModule: Hochschulverwaltung
- Part of the module “University administration”; switchable per tenant.
- Run time without an entry 30 days, at most one year.
What a notice carries#
- Category
- News type and semester (optional)
- Title and text (up to 8,000 characters)
- Period: visible from, visible until
- optionally a poll with 2–8 answers
How voting works#
- Every signed-in person of the tenant has exactly one vote per poll — recorded in the database, not in the browser.
- A second vote changes nothing; voting is only possible while the notice is posted.
- Votes are counted in the database; only totals are shown, never who voted how.
Who may do what#
- Read, vote, bookmark: signed-in members of your own institution.
- Create, extend, withdraw, see results: the administration of your own institution.
- Every query is bound to the tenant boundary; a guard in the code checks this per query.
Tips#
- You only see the results of a poll after your own vote — so the interim result does not influence you.
- A withdrawn notice is gone for members immediately; in the administration it remains visible with the status “withdrawn”.
- For concerns with justification and discussion there is the community.
Under review#
Built; migration 374 is awaiting approval — until then the board and the administration report “not yet set up”. The defaults (the administration creates, 30 days run time, one vote per signed-in member) apply until the owner decides. The public demo surface /g-uds/blackboard continues to show sample data.
