Operations & Administration (Control)
IT control centre
liveForOperator
The operational view in real time: database, avatar machines, render pipeline, live avatar and services — refreshed every five seconds, with status in colour, word and symbol.
Why#
When something goes wrong, the operator should see at a glance where — before a customer calls. And the support team should keep an eye on all tenants at once.
How it works#
Click pathAdministrationControl centre
- 1Open “Control centre” in the administration's bar (address /admin/leitstand; operator only).
- 2At the top four tiles: database, avatar engine, render pipeline, live avatar — each with status and the reason in words (Fig. 1).
Fig. 1 The four tiles: database, avatar engine, render pipeline and live avatar, each with status and reason. - 3“Tenants · overall view”: one tile per customer; a click opens that customer's view in their brand, with only their data.
- 4Render pipeline: gauges for finished renders, database latency, active jobs and new jobs in 24 hours; running jobs with “running since”; per course the status of pre-production (Fig. 2).

Settings and switches#
No switch of its own in the feature catalogue — the feature belongs to its surroundings.
Two views#
- Provider's overall view — all tenants, every five seconds; intended for a round-the-clock support team.
- Tenant view — after a click on a customer: only their data, in the customer's corporate design.
The states#
- Database — critical if it does not respond; warning from 800 ms response time.
- Render pipeline — critical if it cannot be read; warning as soon as a video has failed.
- Avatar engine — warning while the machine is running but the renderer is not yet ready.
- Services — OK if a service is set up; off if its access is missing.
- Live avatar — currently set to off, with the note that this stage is not yet connected.
Who may do what#
Only the operator. The control centre reads, it switches nothing.
Tips#
- The status is never shown by colour alone: every tile carries colour, word and symbol — OK ●, warning ▲, critical ■, off ○, unknown ?.
- The signals come from real measurements, not from a default; an “unknown” means that a measurement did not respond.
Related features#
- Background runsScheduled runs for reminders, cost warnings, reports, fact checks, deletion calendar, learning data and pre-production.
- Costs, usage & controllingMonthly costs and revenue, usage per student and customer, the derivation of the rendering costs and the controlling cockpit with the state of the university.
- Launch health and diagnosticsA checklist of whether the installation is ready to launch — red blockers, yellow warnings, a real test of email delivery — and the diagnostics page with tools and live status.
