Why#

Whoever searches for “What is an LMS?” or “How do I document mandatory training?” should find a reliable answer — in search engines and in answer engines. The knowledge section explains the field; the handbook explains the operation.

How it works#

Click pathWebsiteKnowledgeTopicArticle

  1. 1Open “Knowledge” (address /wissen, in English /en/wissen; linked in the main menu and in the website footer).
  2. 2Choose a topic, e.g. “Learning platform and LMS”, “Creating courses”, “Onboarding” or “Credentials, certificates and microcredentials” (Fig. 1).

  3. 3An article begins with “In short” and “The key points at a glance”; below that “Contents”, the sections, where applicable “Step by step” and “Terms”, then “Frequently asked questions” (Fig. 2).

  4. 4“How it works in Universe” leads to the matching page of the platform or to the handbook entry; “Related articles”, “Sources” and “Last reviewed” are at the end.

Settings and switches#

No switch of its own in the feature catalogue — the feature belongs to its surroundings.

  • The knowledge section is a surface of the provider, not a switch of the feature catalogue: it does not exist on a customer instance.
  • Content exists in German and English; in all other languages the English text appears in a translated shell, with a notice in the page language.

The thirteen topics#

  • Learning platform and LMS · Creating courses · Presentations · AI in learning
  • People development · Onboarding · Mandatory training · Academy
  • Coaching & tutoring · School · University and digital studies
  • Regulation and mandatory training · Credentials, certificates and microcredentials

As of 16.10.2026: 110 articles, each in German and English.

How the knowledge section is maintained#

  • An article is a data record in the source code: address (slug), topic, title, description, short answer, key points, sections (with list or table), three to six frequently asked questions, optionally steps and terms, related articles, matching platform pages, sources and the date of the last expert review.
  • New articles go into the file of their topic per language and are hooked into the language's register; the English version carries the same address.
  • Guards check on every test run: lengths of title and description, at least three questions, unique addresses, links and platform pages point to existing ones, sources via encrypted address, a valid date — no third-party names, no gendered spelling, all shell texts in all languages.
  • When revising, set the date “Last reviewed”: it is visible on the article and in the overview for search engines.

For search engines and answer engines#

Every page carries its own canonical address, language references only to existing versions and machine-readable markup (article, breadcrumbs, frequently asked questions, how-to, terms). All articles are additionally available as continuous text for answer engines, the pages in the overview for search engines.

Who may do what#

Read: anyone, without signing in. Change: via the source code — there is deliberately no editing surface, so that every article passes the guards before it appears.

Tips#

  • Handbook entries automatically show under “Background knowledge” the articles that refer to them — and vice versa.
  • Every figure about the platform must be provable from the code, legal matters need an official source; open standards may be named, third-party names may not.
